A Glimpse Into the Past

The Problem:

Many architectural structures no longer exist or are difficult for people to visualize. 2D drawings and photos can’t communicate scale, shape, or presence. I needed a way to make architecture accessible and understandable.

The Solution:

I built a WebAR framework that allows users to place reconstructed buildings in their real environment using a mobile device — letting them explore architecture at real scale.

The solution included:

– Mobile-friendly WebAR placement system
– Real-size 3D architectural models
– Interactive movement and rotation
– No-app browser access
– Visual details that recreate the structure accurately

Conclusion:

This allowed anyone to explore architecture directly in front of them as if it were physically there. It made lost or planned structures instantly understandable and accessible.
